MJ’s neighbours oppose Neverland plans

[an error occurred while processing this directive]Washington (ANI): Neighbours of michael jackson"s Neverland ranch are opposing plans to turn the King of Pop"s former home into a tourist attraction. The residents in the rural Santa Ynez Valley area of Santa Barbara, California, have formed a group called Never! in a bid to prevent the property from being turned into a noisy, crowded commercial venture.

They claim that the valley doesn"t have a sufficient road system, police force or infrastructure to accommodate the scores of fans that would be expected to visit if Neverland is turned into an attraction. However, property's co-owner Thomas Barrack insists no official plans have been drawn up for the ranch.

Never! organisers want reassurance he won't make a tourist park. "We have received mixed messages, some reassuring, some troubling. We"d like clear, concrete signs that there are no plans to pursue turning this into a tourist attraction," Contactmusic quoted Never! spokesman Bob Field as saying.

The Thriller hitmaker had deserted the ranch in 2005 following his child molestation trial.
