Miley Cyrus' dad hurt by Jamie's joke

Friday, April 17, 2009, 15:38 [IST]
Washington (ANI): Jamie Foxx may have apologised for mocking singer Miley Cyrus, but the teen sensation"s dad doesn"t think the comedian"s jokes were funny. Billy Ray Cyrus has said that Foxx"s insults to his daughter were hurtful and hardly funny.

The 41-year-old funnyman had launched a crude attack on the teen sensation in an episode of his weekly radio show 'The Foxxhole". "Make a sex tape and grow up!" Fox News quoted him as having said on the show.

Responding to the comments, Miley"s dad told talk show host Bonnie Hunt: “It was hurtful, there wasn"t nothing funny about it, and quite frankly, I think if I said those things about his daughter he might not find it so comedic."

Although, it"s not clear when Foxx"s comments were made, he later issued an apology on a recent episode of 'The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno, claiming he meant no harm.

Actually there is not double standard in this case. Even though I don't condone what he said there was nothing racially charged about the comment. Imas called the girls "Nappy headed hoes." The term nappy headed is a derogatory term that has been use for years. My black friends get realy offended behind terms like that. It's the eqivalent of saying something like trailer trash or honky. As I said before, it wasn't right but you guys need to take the race card out of this one.

Trying to determine the double standard. Don Imus... Jamie Fox Insincere apology on Leno yet keeps his "gig" on Sirius. Really?Thats all it takes. I'd suggest a lengthy timeout and counseling. Now Jamie...that would BE FUNNY!

If they comments were made by Billy Rae Cyrus about Jamie Foxes daughter everyone would be calling Cyrus a racist right now. So why is Jamie Fox not being called one. Miley is a child and while she is a TV Star that does not give anyone (even a comedian) the right to make those type of comments about her. I am no longer a fan of Jamie Fox.

Billy ray cyrus is just another kkk hill billy racist in sheep clothing faggot. The only reason why he/or his daughter is rich because of Disney Channel. Otherwise, both of them are talentless...without their spindoctors and tv series Comedians have the liciense to joke about anything!

well i thought it was funny, he's jamie foxx, he's a comedian. Miley's a grown girl, shes dating a 21 year old, and her friends herself said that she hangs out with people older than her, she's heard worse and read worse, so this shouldnt strike her as surprising. he's more famous than her, and only little tweeny boppers, some of them, think shes way bigger. they should just hush

who cares what mylie said about radio head. jamie is a grown man with a daughter. if the white man said that about his daughter then what? whats crazy is that i liked jamie foxx until now, hes a bum. Remember what happened to imus in new york when he made a joke about the collage ladies basket ball team. mylie's father should form a massive ralley to where jamie foxx works and demand they fire him.. whats fare is fare.

You people don't know when not to cross the line. Miley is a teenager who has been raised well and you people are so lowdown and vindictive that you will try to cut her down even though she is a teenager, not even adult yet. How are your own daughters doing? ? ? Show some respect for Miley and show your age, and pick on someone your own age not a teenager. You people show you have NO CLASS by berating this girl.

I partially agree with 'Buzz' about his argument. Miley Cyrus threatens a band, saying she is going to 'ruin them' simply because they are private people and did not want to meet with her, not to mention they were preparing for a performance. And to her she thinks they are so cruel when they didn't actually do anything wrong. If they had said that she was an annoying teen out of the blue then sure it would be rather cruel, but they beared no malice by simply refusing her. But she is a media darling and a Disney product so she is infallible by threatening to end Radiohead. For a girl who claims to be such a huge fan of Radiohead, she leaves before they perform because she is upset and then threatens them after? Doesn't sound like any normal fan, sounds like a stalker who got stiffed. As for Jamie Foxx's role in this, I do not condone his words, but the attention his comment getting is irritating given that Cyrus' comment is for the most part ignored by media. I wouldn't be surprised if part of it is because he is a rapper and the rural America hates rappers and loves country stars like 'Billy Bob' Ray And Billy Ray Cyrus should shut his egotistical mouth. He is a barely talented novelty hack (who can forget his immortal words, 'Don't break my heart, my achey breakey heart!') who has little contention with whoring out his daughter so that he can once again be in the spotlight. He has no right acting like some moral figure. It isn't enough for his daughter to be successful, he has to be involved in pretty much everything himself. Plus, he named his daughter Destiny Hope Cyrus. Nothing Foxx says could be crueler than that!
