Macca, Ringo reunite to teach meditation

London (ANI): Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will come together on stage to teach meditation to youngsters. The surviving Beatles will be seen in a live Internet broadcast from New York on April 3 to promote the spiritual method amongst young people.

The legendary musicians had journeyed to India with their band mates in 1967 to learn transcendental meditation from their then guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. But according to Fab Four biographer Keith Badman, the pair was said to be less enthusiastic than their fellow rockers George Harrison and John Lennon.

“Ringo left early, basically because he hated the food. Paul followed," the Daily Express quoted Badman as saying. “Ironically, it was John and George who were most keen on meditation," he added.

TM is great. I have done it for years and know how good it is at relieving stress and staying healthy. It is also great at keeping your mind clear so you can learn more easily, and remember things better. It will certainly help students in schools. Thanks to all involved in this great concert in New York.

I've been practicing Transcendental Meditation for some years, and for me it's been an effective tool to release stress, become more balanced, and explore who I really AM deep inside – not the product of life-long conventions and conditioning and stress, but the human being underneath all that. It works for me!

I can’t wait to see this concert and I am so happy that such a good cause is being supported by so many stars. TM is awesome and helps children develop great self-confidence, flexibility, problem solving skills, and happiness (to name just a few). Making Transcendental Meditation available to children of school age is a great idea and gives me hope for the future.
