London (ANI): Aussie singer Kylie Minogue says that no-one is to blame for Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle's breakdown. Speaking at the Glamour magazine Women of the Year Awards in London, the pop princess said she was suspicious of press reports on the singer's condition.

"I don't know how much about it is true, and how much isn't," Sky News quoted Minogue as saying. "But it raises an interesting point anyway about whether people are prepared for it or not," she added. She said she did not think Boyle's breakdown was predictable, adding: "I wish her all the best."

Minogue was at the annual event to bag two awards, including one for Woman Of The Year.

The popularity of this story has to do with its multiple possible interpretations. Was Susan hounded by the press until she collapsed? Is she an innocent, disabled victim who had no idea what might happen? Or did she erupt into rage and tantrums when her expected win didn't materialize, expressing her fury and thwarted entitlement by throwing a hissy fit and glasses of water on people? Her neighbors have spoken of a tendency to erupt if not given her own way. And the posing, strip tease and dancing suggest that Susan courts the press when it agrees with her. So, victim or diva? How much slack should she be given? Everyone has an opinion. What's undeniable, though, is that this is the question now guiding Susan's story, not the quality of her singing or the depth of her musicianship. It's a bad start to marketing oneself as a serious, quality artist. If I were Susan I'd try to re-invent the image to one of consistent and reliable professionalism. Not even the appearance of an emotional meltdown can happen if she wants future organizers to consider her a reliable performer to sign. No more striking poses for the camera, Susan. No more outbursts of foul language when something angers you. Time to show everyone that you're a professional, and that you understand the stakes and investment of those who have hired you to sing.
