London (ANI): Singer Katy Perry's religiously inclined parents want her to marry British comedian Russell Brand, sources say. In fact, pastors Keith and Mary Hudson intend to conduct the ceremony in Temecula, 74 miles south of Los Angeles, where they run an evangelical ministry.

"Keith and Mary are praying this isn't just a shallow Hollywood fling and by all accounts it isn't," the Daily Star quoted a worshipper at the site as saying. Meanwhile, Brand's pals have claimed that he is completely in love with the pop star. A friend said: "It's the real deal. He's absolutely smitten with her. He recently texted her a love poem he'd written and she responded by sending back a topless photo of herself."

Also, Katy is reportedly told pals in America: "We're so in love." One friend said: "Normally, she'd go ballistic at her mom and dad trying to steer her up the aisle with a boyfriend. She is religious but she's a gorgeous girl and a real free spirit. This time it's different. She told me, 'This guy could be a keeper - for life'."

The two had recently met at a party after the MTV Music Video Awards in New York.
