Led Zeppelin looking to replace singer Robert Plant

Robert Plant
London (ANI): English rock band Led Zeppelin will apparently replace lead singer Robert Plan if he failed to join the band on tour. Zep guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist John Paul Jones and drummer Jason Bonham have been busy recently rehearsing in West London's Ritz Studio and using stand-in vocalists.

Plant has refused to take part in any practice sessions as he is currently committed to his side project with country singer Alison Krauss. "Jimmy, Jason and John are determined a tour will go ahead next year," The Sun quoted a source, as saying.

"They've been rehearsing frequently in London and the band is really gelling. Obviously they want the original frontman to join them on the road but he still won't commit. They will be finalising plans for shows over the next couple of months and will tell Robert that if he doesn't want to be involved they will go ahead without him," the source added.

Anyone connected to the "reunion" tour, all Zep members included, wold be out of their minds to even consider anyone as a "replacement" for Plant other than Ann Wilson of Heart. I challenge anyone anywhere to outsing Ann on ANY Zep song. Heart is the only band to ever cover Zeppelin in the respectful, kickass fashion their music commands. Leave Plant alone. He's doing high quality music with an incomparable musician in her own right. Why should he drop the things he and Alison have so beautifully accomplished for a quickley thrown together "reunion" tour to capitalize on the response to the London gig? Yeah, we all love Zep. They were the soundtrack to many of our childhood/teenage/young adult years, but when Bonham died, L.Z. left the planet with him. It's true, replacing him with his son is as close as we could get, but that's not the question here. They wanna tour and SOUND like Zep, Ann wilson is the ONLY choice. And don't leave Nancy out. Have you heard them cover "Battle of Evermore", "Misty Mountain Hop" & "Rock and Roll"? (among others) There are no other sensible choices. Someone get word to the boys that their search is over.

I m getting pretty sick of Robert Plant always toying with Zeppelin fans. Ever since Live-Aid back in the early 80's, he has always been teasing people with Led Zeppelin. In his solo act, audio sampling like in Now And Zen, brief reunions, Plant-Page tour and record, but never giving people an actual Zeppelin reunion record or tour. This is his last chance, it would have been better about 20 years ago, but they are starting to become ancient. Mr. Plant, either announce, no reunion ever, or do the damn thing. Otherwise, I hope the rest of the members hire David Coverdale to replace you, he was more Robert Plant than Robert Plant ever was!
