Led Zeppelin to unite for the last time

Monday, October 01, 2007

London, (ANI): Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant has said that their upcoming concert will be their last reunion gig, pouring cold water on speculations that the legendary rock band may begin a full-blown tour. The 59-yea-old star, who has not joined other members of the Seventies musical group since its appearance for Live Aid in 1985, said that some of their reunion gigs in the past were not very good, which is why he wanted to make their upcoming show memorable.

“There"ll be one show and that"ll be it," the Daily Express quoted him as saying.“We need to do one last great show because we"ve done some shows and they"ve been crap," he added. Robert even revealed that he was planning to quit music career after the band"s upcoming show. “I know I"m getting on. When I do come back from touring I"m shocked to find a lot of my mates tend to be going to bed far too early and that means I should probably be doing the same. Maybe I should stop having a good time and get old," he said.

Robert will join guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones at London"s 02 arena in November. Late drummer John Bonham will be replaced by his son Jason. The show is being organised in the memory of Ahmet Ertegun, the late founder of Atlantic Records, who signed the band in 1968. Almost 20 million fans applied for the show"s tickets so far.
