AR Rahman loses the Golden Globe

Mozart of Madras AR Rahman lost out the Golden Globe award for the 'original score' category to musicians Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for their music in the film The Social Network. Rahman was nominated for the second time at the Golden Globe Awards for his original scores in Danny Boyle's film 127 Hours. The film stars James Franco who portrays the real-life mountain climber Aron Ralston.

AR Rahman just a day before loosing out at the Golden Globe was honoured with a trophy at the 16th Critics' Choice Awards for his number 'If I Rise' from the same film by Danny Boyle. The musician has already got the honour to bag the prestigious Golden Globe and two of the Academy Awards for his music in the film Slumdog Millionaire in the year 2009.

Rahman was also honoured with the Padma Bhusan last year and has also received two gramophones at the 52nd Grammy Awards for his music in Slumdog Millionaire.
