Radio Mirchi hosted a first of its kind dazzling award show – the Mirchi Music Awards on Saturday to honour excellence in Hindi film music. The event took place at Taj Lands End Mumbai with eminent personalities from the film and music fraternity attending the mega event like Genelia Dsouza, Bipasha Basu, Shahid Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan etc.

Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodha Akbar almost singly handedly swept the awards winning 7 awards including Best Song of the Year for 'Jashn-e-Baharaa'. Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na won 4 awards including Best Album of the Year. Nightangle of India Lata Mangeshkar was was conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
