Directed by Aji John, Hotel California is an action comedy and lead actors' performances are the main attractions in the movie. Anoop's interesting script, Shaan Rahman's music, good camera work, rib-tickling comedy and a few action scenes are other highlights of the film. A few illogical and over-the-top comedy sequences are the biggest drawback of the flick.
Set in the backdrop of an airport, Hotel California narrates the story of a journey of five guys. The movie deals with the experience of a few travellers on board. The entire plot unfurls inside the airline. The director has got good grip over the narration of the whole comedy show. The humour in the film is natural except for a few illogical scenes and it arises out of confused situation.
Five people like Superstar Prem Sagar (Anoop Menon), Rafeeq - a bodyguard from Dubai, businessman Arun Singh, Kochi Metro Engineer Lakshman Prasad, and a young man are the five strangers, who reach the Nedumbasserry Airport. Five people are waiting for them at the airport, when one among them, Airport Jiby (Jayasurya) clubs all of them together for some reason. But the people who are to meet each other get shuffled, which causes confusion among them. This confusion has been presented humorously on screen.

Since the story of Hotel California unfolds in the business class of the plane, the maximum portions have been shot in the real aeroplane in Cochin International Airport. The movie has sound production values.
Shaan Rahman's music and background scores are good assets of the film. The picturisation is also good. Action scenes have been choreographed well. Other technical departments like dialogues, costumes, art directions and editing are also commendable and add to the beauty of the movie.
Overall, Hotel California is a good comedy entertainer. If you are lover of comedy films, don't miss to watch it.
