In an interview, Prithviraj had earlier said that he had grown up seeing the performance of Mohanlal and Mammootty on screen and was always a great fan. After coming into the industry, he openly disclosed his wish to act along with these stars in their movies. Prithviraj and Mammootty shared the screen in Pokkiri Raja and it was rumoured that they will soon share the screen in the upcoming movie Munnariyippu. Now, the director of the film has come forward slamming Prithvi's presence in it.
Cinematographer Venu, director of Munnariyippu has said that Prithviraj is not a part of his second venture. He confirmed that only Mammootty is the lead in his upcoming movie, which is under filming. The shooting is progressing in Calicut and director Ranjith is producing this movie under the banner of Gold Coin Productions.
Mammootty plays the role of a person who has been released from the jail recently and Aparna Gopinath plays the role of a journalist who comes to write his story. Prathap Pothen is also said to be playing a pivotal role in this film.
Munnariyippu is the second directorial venture of Venu. His first movie was Daya with Manju Warrier in the lead. The movie did not hit the expected success, but the role played by Manju Warrier was critically acclaimed. Meanwhile, Prithviraj is busy shooting for his upcoming movie Picket 43, which is progressing in Jammu and Kashmir.
