When a raid was conducted at Mohanlal's residence last year, among many other valuables, elephant tusks were also recovered by the IT sleuths. This had led to a lot of debate as to how the actor could keep the tusks in his house since the act is deplorable as per the Wildlife Act of India, 1972.
A team of police will visit Mohanlal at his residence in Kochi and collect statements in connection with the tusks. Bijo Alexander, Thrikkakara assistant commissioner said that a few RTI activists' forum had lodged a complaint against the actor with the state director general of police seeking an inquiry into the tusks acquired at Mohanlal's residence. He was hence compelled to collect statement from the actor.
