The film Achan in which veteran actor Thilakan is doing the lead role, started rolling yesterday at Kozhikode. Ali Akbar is directing the film. First shot of the film was done at director"s house in Chevayur near Kozhikode.
Ali Akber said he could complete the film within twelve days. The film is based on the drama Achan written by famous dramatist S.R. Raveendran. He has written the screenplay too. Ali Akber"s wife Louisiama is producing it, while his daughter has scored the music and G.Venu Gopal sung them.
There were a lot of issues going on when the film Achan was announced, for casting Thilakan in lead, since the tug of war between AMMA and Thilakan culminated in ousting him from the association. Director"s house and car were attacked by some miscreants. Though he did not step back from the decision, he believes that it is the right of an artiste performing in art forms, without any barrier or restriction by any association. The film is expected to reach theatres by October.
