Mammootty wins the best actor award
Mammootty makes it out again. He wins the Best Actor Award for Kerala State Film Awards 2009. His acted film Paleri Maanikyam bags the Best Film Award and Swetha Menon wins the Best Actress Award for her performance in Paleri Maanikyam.

Pazhassi Raja director Hariharan is the Best Director and MT Vasudevan Nair is the best screenplay writer again for Pazhassi Raja. Mohanlal's Ividum Swargamaanu won the Best Popular Film Award. Manoj K Jayan and Padmapriya won the Best Supporting Actor and Actress Awards for Pazhassi Raja..Niveditha bagged the Best Child Artist for her performance in Bhramaram. Jagathy Sreekumar won the special jury award. Suraj Venjaramoodu is the best comedian. Yesudas and Shreya Ghoshal are the best male and female singers for Madhya Venal and Banaras respectively. Debutante director is P Sukumar for Swa Le. Mohan Sitara is the best musician for Sufi Paranja Katha.
