Priyanandan lashes against the superstars

Director Priyanandanan criticised the involvement of Malayalam superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty in the field of Drama. It was merely a show, he said. They have not even uttered a dialogue on the stage. He was hinting at the performances of the superstars in the dramas they staged recently.

“Everything was recorded and they were just giving lip movement. It could not project the aesthetics of histrionics. How can we call this a drama? An artiste performing on stage should act with total involvement and it gives perfection to the drama." Priyanandanan expressed this opinion at a press meet in Thrissur on Tuesday in connection with the announcement of P.J. Antony Memorial Drama script contest winners conducted by the theatre group 'PART'.

He also criticised Amitabh Bachchan, Priyadarshan and director Kamal for their criticism against Slumdog Millionaire. He said that they have no right to speak against Slumdog Millionaire, because they are the persons who have made film making a sponsored programme. “It is through Slumdog Millionaire that we could affirm the other side of India. A film maker should also bring out that side, not to hide it."

Dear Nandan, Appreciate the fact that they have done something. They don't even have to come to stage for drama, still they do it. No director in India was able to unleash the real talent of Mohanlal. Try to do it with a classic film...it'l answer all your questions

This man is insane, not in his mind. He is furstrated against all and blabbing anything. How manytimes you want to see same naked truth about India? Perhaps Indian directors shown it manytimes and in much better ways than Slumdog...but why they were not given Oscars? Do you think what Rahman gave in SM is better than what he did in Roja or Bombay or Taal or recently Dilli6? This man is actually jealous of all these people and got an easy ground here in the cover of SM to vent his frustration..nothing else.

So your issue is Slumdog Millionaire / A.R. Rahman got Oscar and no one else should tell a story around the slums of India again because some stories around it has told already?? SM songs is not in my playlist and I have most Rahman songs! SM and its artist got Oscar because of the exposure it got. Who cares about oscar? Why do we need to? Let the foreigners give their movie their awards and die...
