Priyadarshan has decided to view cinema as a medium with much more seriousness. Therefore he has decided, "My next films are not comedies. I am planning to make a film on AIDS and another one on female infanticide. Issues like AIDS and female infanticide are very close to me and have been lying in my heart for so long. Now I have the encouragement to try my hands on them".
However the director is getting entangled in issues which at times even hamper his credibility as a director. Therefore when the director snubbed the Indian entries to the Oscar Awards, it was evocative of the famous Aesop Fables, where you have to painfully acknowledge that 'the grapes are sour". He made it point blank, "We send trash to the Oscars. The government should request that the films selected for National Awards should be sent."
Has anybody heard him? Did they consider Kanchivaram in the entries list? So, it needs to be debated whether the filmmaker is getting serious or rather too silly?
