Malayalam superstar Padmashree Bharath Mammootty and the South Indian actress Waheeda Rehman will be the Chief Guests at IFFI for the opening and the closing ceremonies which is to be held at Goa on November 23. The Ghajini fame Asin will be lighting the ceremonial lamp. Actor Kabir Bedi and Actress Divya Dutta will compere the function. Information and broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni is also to make her presence in the fuction.
As part of the Indian Panorama 26 feature films and 18 non-feature films will be screened.
From Malayalam Kutty Srank, directed by Shaji M Karun will be screened. Others include Kaminey (Hindi), Pasanga (Tamil), Factory (Marathi) etc.Under the non-feature section What If (English), Kelkkunundo (Malayalam) will be screened.
The Indian Panorama would open with Paltadcho Manis by Laxmikant Shetganokar (Konkani) and Dot in for Motion by Anirban Datta ( English). IFFI is to honor yesteryear stars like Sharmila Tagore, Asha Parekh, Soumitra Chatterjee in the function. It will also screen a retrospective of Kamal Hassan's films as he has completed 50 years in film industry.
The film will also comprise anti-war film section. Films from worldwide is the main attraction for the festival.The jury includes prominent directors, actors and critics.
