Kelkkunundo to be the Best Short Film at IFFI
Kelkkunundo, directed by the actress Geethu Mohandas, has won the Golden lamp tree award for the Best Short Film category at IFFI. There were about 206 films from 26 countries to participate in the category. The award includes a sum of rupees five lakh.

The jury commented it as a director skill movie. The theme was properly communicated to the audience. The film also was successful in creating a good visual impact too. The Jury headed by Malayalam filmmaker Shahji Karun described Kelkkunnundo'as a well crafted and poignantly acted film about the trauma of progress seen through the innocence and blindness of a child.

Supriyo Sen's Wagah, produced by German company Detail Film India, was selected for Silver Lamp Tree Award in International competition. The film, which depicts the pomp and pageantry of national pride as seen through the playful eyes of children, won a cash prize of Rs three lakh.

The film is produced and cinematographed by her husband Rajiv Ravi. The film has been already selected for the Rotterdam film Festival and Mumbai International film Festival.
“This is an award for all the crew members who co-operated with the movie" –said Geethu after the announcement.
