Karthika finds greener pastures in Tamil

After the super hit film Dindigul Saarathy, Karthika has got so many offers from Tamil. Dindigul Saarathy was the remake of Malayalam film Vadakunokki Yantram. Though Karthika is selective regarding the Tamil movies, she has now been cast in the next project by Selva. He is remaking the film Nootruku Nooru which was released in 1971 and directed by Balachander.

In that film the late actress Srividya had donned the role of a malayali girl. Karthika is selected to do this role in the remake. Next month Aarumukhame will be released. In this film she has essayed the role of a road worker, which is a very strong character. The director of the film is Sudheesh Sankar and hero is Deepak who is also a Keralite. In an other film Naalai Namathai Karthika dons the role of a district Collector.

Janmam ready for release, crossing hurdles

Director Joshy's latest venture Janmam (which went through some financial difficulties)produced by Tharangini films is complete and the producers are planning to release it in December. The lead role in the film is played by Sureshgopi and its artists include Karthika. One of the highlights of the film, which was completed a while ago, is that Tamil actress Sada has done a song sequence in it. Ayudham, directed by Nishad, is the latest cop tale from action hero Sureshgopi, who has already become a 'police icon' for his role in khaki in an array of successful investigative thrillers in Malayalam. Ayudham has all the ingredients expected in a typical Sureshgopi thriller. It begins with a blast (literally) and predictably, ends well after critically commenting upon the various political and current events (as usual) such as the privatisation of ports, the real estate boom funded by capitalists.....

Thilakan mimics V S Achuthanandan?

There was criticism against Sureshgopi's latest cop tale Ayudham directed by Nishad, saying veteran actor Thilakan's role as a Chief Minister (Madhavan) in the film is strikingly similar to Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan in style and flavour and the actor has mimicked the Communist leader. However, Thilakan denied these allegations and said during a meet-the-press programme at the Thiruvananthapuram Press Club on Sunday that the resemblance of his character to V.S. Achuthanandan in the movie was unintentional. He said that.....

Renjit to make Tamil film

Script-writer turned director Renjit is said to be planning to make a Tamil film with Prithviraj and Karthika in the lead. He is currently directing a film titled Thirakkatha with Prithviraj in Malayalam in Kozhikode. It was Renjit who gave Prithviraj a break through his film Nandanam which became a huge hit six years ago. Renjit, known to have made super hit films in the past, is going through a dull period. The last four films that he made have failed.....
