Jayachandran to the success of the film. When asked whether the reign of superstars have brought down the opportunities of youngsters, he said that superstars have only inspired young actors like him. Opportunities get restricted due to lack of good stories in Malayalam film industry.

Navya admitted that she was apprehensive about being sidetracked by another heroine, Kavya Madhavan, in the film, but all through "there has been a healthy competition with Kavya". "For two years I have not had a noteworthy character in Malayalam. So this film is a sort of comeback for me'', she added.

Script writer Cherian Kalpakavadi said that the producer had given him a free hand. He had made it clear at the outset itself that his intention has been to make a good film rather than a box office hit.

Producer M.R Nair said that this film is inspired from his 35 years or more of experiences in the holy city.

Pushparaj said that although the initial response to the film is positive it was not able to release it all over the state, because of the star monopoly. They could not get theatres in some places. Another reason is that too many films were released during this summer vacation season.
