Blogs and networking sites like Facebook and YouTube are trendy platforms filmmakers harness today to promote their films using Internet. Recently, Tamil director Arun Vaidyanathan started a blog for his film Achchamundu! Achchamundu! The blog was regularly updated by the director, who was keen on sharing his production experiences with like-minded persons. Bollywood actors like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan already publish blogs which are widely read.
Following this trend is Mammootty, the first Malayalam actor to start his blog which will be active from 01.01.09.
The blog will reportedly air Mammootty's views on socio-political activities which he is interested in. He is already famous for expressing his unbiased views on many socio-political activities in Kerala.
Mammootty had written a number of articles in the largest circulated Malayalam newspaper Malayala Manorama over the years; these articles were published as a book titled Kazhchapadu (Perspective) in 2007 by Current Books, Trichur. At the book launch, M.T. Vasudevan Nair was all praise for Mammootty's style of writing. So we are confident Mammootty will be a successful blogger too.
