Singer Ranjini's debut opposite Mohanlal

Malayalam playback singer Ranjini Jose debuted with the super hit Malayalam song 'Maasam Maasam monsoon Maasam' of Mammootty's Aparichitan in 2004. She has sung nearly 35 songs for Malayalam and Tamil films so far and is now all set to make her first appearance on the silver screen with a film being directed by Shaji Kailas, the leading Malayalam director who has given us numerous hits with superstars Mammootty and Suresh Gopi.

Ranjini will play the main character named Isabella in Shaji Kailas' upcoming project Red Chillies, starring none other than superstar Mohanlal in the lead. She has rendered songs for her character as well. Red Chillies is produced by Renjith under the banner of Rajaputhra, which had earlier made Chinthamani Kola Case with Sureshgopi.

Red Chillies, a Christmas release from Mohanlal in 2008, is about murder mystery revolving around a gang of nine Radio Jockeys working with FM 919.1. Mohanlal plays a character named Omar, an NRI businessman who has settled in the Gulf and runs this radio station in Kerala. Omar is an impeccable personality with multi-lingual talents and can speak English, Arabic and Malayalam fluently.

All his female staff are madly in love with him and he always communicates through e-mails to his female jockeys. On a New Year eve, he promises that he will reveal his love for one of them. But in a terrible twist in the plot, they are murdered one by one! The film is scripted by A.K. Sajan.
 

Janmam ready for release, crossing hurdles

Director Joshy's latest venture Janmam (which went through some financial difficulties)produced by Tharangini films is complete and the producers are planning to release it in December. The lead role in the film is played by Sureshgopi and its artists include Karthika. One of the highlights of the film, which was completed a while ago, is that Tamil actress Sada has done a song sequence in it. Joshy is well-known director who gave many super hit movies in the 80's like New.....

Kuttysranku to explore magical realism

Mammootty's Kuttyshranku portray the plot by using 'Magical Realism'. The film has three heroines and Kuttysranku (Mammootty) is shown through the different viewpoints of the women. The spirituality of Buddhism, interest in art and human concern these three impressions are included in this film. Mammootty has taken this character as a challenge.
