Sheela comes to town

Sheela, a child artiste-turned-heroine, who was appreciated for her performances in Vedha, Kanna, Ilavattom, Arindhum Ariyamalum, Seethakoka Chiluka, Cheena Thaana and Parugu in Tamil and Telugu, is now foraying into Malayalam with Mammootty's Maya Bazaar, directed by Thomas Sebastian, an assistant to director Sibi Malayail.

Though her mother tongue is Telugu, Sheela was more into Tamil than Telugu films. She made her debut as a lead star in Telugu with Hari Gopalakrishna Murthy's Seethakoka Chiluka in 2006.

Bollywood actress Tisca Chopra, who played the mother of wonder kid Darsheel Safari in Aamir Khan's Taare Zameen Par, will be one of the two heroines in this Mammootty starrer. The highest-paid villain, Prakash Raj, will handle the negative role. The other cast include Nedumudi Venu, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Innocent, Salim Kumar, etc.

Maya Bazaar, which has already started it shoot at Pollachi, Tamil Nadu, is about a daredevil motorcycle rider who also buys and sells used cars. The film, written by T.A. Razak, is said to be an action entertainer.

Produced by Sachi S. Mangalam under the banner of Aakhil Films, Maya Bazaar will grace theatres this October. Currently, Mammootty is working for Pazhassi Raja and Kutty Shranku.
 

Janmam ready for release, crossing hurdles

Director Joshy's latest venture Janmam (which went through some financial difficulties)produced by Tharangini films is complete and the producers are planning to release it in December. The lead role in the film is played by Sureshgopi and its artists include Karthika. One of the highlights of the film, which was completed a while ago, is that Tamil actress Sada has done a song sequence in it. Joshy is well-known director who gave many super hit movies in the 80's like New.....

Kuttysranku to explore magical realism

Mammootty's Kuttyshranku portray the plot by using 'Magical Realism'. The film has three heroines and Kuttysranku (Mammootty) is shown through the different viewpoints of the women. The spirituality of Buddhism, interest in art and human concern these three impressions are included in this film. Mammootty has taken this character as a challenge. As an actor, he has received a number of national as well as state awards; director Shaji N. Karun is also well-experienced and has won a great number of.....
