After their successful team effort Thanmatra (which told the trauma of an Alzheimer's patient and his family), intelligent director Blessy is casting Mohanlal again in his next film in the role of a jeep driver. The heroine is yet to be finalized. There are unconfirmed reports that Jayaram will play an important role along with Mohanlal in this film which is expected to start shooting in February 2009.
Blessy began his career as an independent director through Kazhcha featuring Mammootty and Padmapriya. The film, based on the Gujarat earthquake, told the story of a boy orphaned in the quake and how he captures the heart of a small village in Kerala. Blessy, in the early stages of his career, worked with great directors like Bharathan and Padmarajan who influenced his thinking and helped him in forming an outlook towards cinema. This helped him in making critically-acclaimed films later.
Blessy's last release was Calcutta News with Dilip and Meera Jasmine in the lead.
