Mallika Kapoor, the doe-eyed heroine in South Indian films, is better known to Malayalam film goers through her debut Malayalam film Albudhadweep (2005) directed by Vinayan. The movie, which was about a mysterious island where all the men are dwarfs and all the women are normal, created history by becoming the first Indian movie whose remake rights have been bought by Hollywood.
Like any other Malayalam actress, Mallika Kapoor later migrated to Tamil, Telugu and Kannada, where she has done a number of movies including Azhagai Irukkirai Bayamai Irukkirathu, Vathiyar, Allare Allari, Arputha Theevu, Puli Varudhu, State Rowdy, Savi Savi Nenapu and Ganga Kaveri. After a small break, she returned to the Malayalam scene with Madambi in 2008, opposite Malayalam superstar Mohanlal.
