Kurukshetra finally makes it to A class theatres

Kurukshetra
The recent controversy between producers and exhibitors in the Malayalam film industry over releasing superstars' films in A and B class theatres has been solved in a conciliation meeting between Ministers Paloli Mohammed Kutty and M.A. Baby, and the members of the film association.

According to new settlement, Mohanlal's much-anticipated Kurukshetra, the third venture by army officer-turned-filmmaker Major Ravi, will be released in both A and B class theatres on Wednesday (October 8). On the other hand, Mammootty's Maya Bazaar, that was released only in B and C class theatres few days ago, will be released in A class theatres from this week onwards.

Kurukshetra, a big-budget flick produced by Santhosh Damodaran under the Damor Films banner, is based on the director's hazardous experiences of the Kargil war between India and Pakistan that took place between May and July 1999 in Kashmir.

Mohanlal will appear as Colonel Mahadevan, who is all determined to reclaim the land grabbed by Pakistani soldiers in the Kargil valley. Kannada star Tanya Singh and Nehak Bhatia will be the female leads.

Kurukshetra, a sequel to Keertichakra, will feature three war sequences, constituting one-third of the movie. The movie will also feature real war practice sessions of the Indian Army. The story, dialogues and screenplay are by the director himself. The film has four songs written by Girish Puthencherry and set music by Siddarth. One song will be in Hindi. Along with Mohanlal, Siddique, Biju Menon, Cochin Haneefa and Sooraj Venjaranmoodu are also in the cast.
