Jayasurya to go black !

Jayasurya's upcoming film Currency will not be featuring him in the usual getup of the handsome guy. Instead, he will have a short hairdo and black complexion. If one is wondering why a good looking actor like Jayasurya is doing a role with such a getup, the answer is right here.

In Malayalam cinema, several prominent actors have stopped thinking about their looks when it comes to roles with substance. From late actors like Sathyan and Prem Nazir as well as superstars Mammootty, Mohanlal, Jayaram and Suresh Gopi have donned unusual roles of unconventional heroes with commitment and vigour. Most of these roles provided substance and brought appreciation and depth in their acting careers. Now Jayasurya joins the band of brave stars who dared to accept different roles. This actor, who had much success playing the happy-go-lucky guy, dreamt of enacting roles that are 'different'. This role will add something new and different to Jayasurya"s profile and should be remembered forever. Also, acting in such roles need courage since not everybody would want to appear on screen looking ugly.

Jayasurya plays the role of a plain-looking character named Keshu who is working in a photostat shop. Kalabhavan Mani, Mukesh and Meera Nandan are the other important characters in this movie. We will wait and see if his brave act will win him awards and accolades.
