Mammootty's Annan Thampi, which was released on Vishu, still maintains its No. 1 position at the box office. The film has already broken all collection records and is still running at half of the theatres where it was released. The second place goes to Jayasuriya's Shakespeare M.A. Malayalam directed by debutants Shyju-Shaju, which had a weak opening but picked up momentum later.
Innathe Chinthavishayam, featuring Mohanlal and directed by Sathyan Anthikadu, is in the third place. The film has already been termed as a super hit and has made profit. The fourth place goes to another Jayasuriya starrer, Positive, directed by V. Prakash. Pachamarathanalil, in the fifth place, featuring Sreenivasan and Padmapriya, is expected to end up as an average runner. The film is expected to recover its production costs.
