Aakashagopuram to revolutionize Malayalam movies

With an international crew comprising of Emmy Award-winning musician John Altman and other technicians from Hollywood, the upcoming Mohanlal starrer Aakashagopuram seems poised for a much-needed change in the Malayalam film industry, in terms of treatment of subject, language and a whole new way of marketing films! will be something unheard-of in Kerala's film industry.

National award-winning director K.P. Kumaran said that this classic film needed realistic background to support the script. "This project, I feel, is an effort to break away from conventional storylines that are usually set in Kerala's villages or fast-paced action flicks. It is for the first time that an Indian film has been shot entirely in London. Conceiving and executing such a project is rare. Subtitled in English, the film is slated for simultaneous releases in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Coimbatore on August 22. Aimed at the large NRI community, the film will also be released in Dubai and North America.

It will be another milestone in Mohanlal's career as he plays Albert Samson, an English architect in the film. Aakashagopuram is based on the classic "Master Builder" by the famous Norwegian playwright Henrik Johan Ibsen.
