Mammootty to act with Mohanlal

Malayalam superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal will be seen together in a new film, Yuga Purushan. While Mammootty will play the role of Sree Narayana Guru in the film, Mohanlal will play the role of Swami Vivekananda. The movie to be directed by R. Sukumaran is slated for 2008 release.

The veteran stars will also be seen together in an AMMA film being produced by Dileep. The movie casts all big stars of the Malayalam film industry; due to date problems, the movie has not yet hit the floors. Mammootty and Mohanlal were last seen together in the film Harikrishnans by Fazil.
 

P. N Menon cremated with State Honours

Renowned filmmaker P.N. Menon (82), who died in a private hospital in Kochi on Tuesday after a prolonged illness, was cremated with State honours at the Ravipuram crematorium at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. P.N. Menon was one of the pioneers of Malayalam parallel cinema and has directed masterpieces like Olavum Theeravum, Chembarathi, Kuttiyedathi, Mappusakshi and Malamukalile Daivam.

Kumaran ropes in Kavya before marriage

There is no need to introduce National Award-winning director K.P. Kumaran, who has made the recent Mohanlal starrer Aakashagopuram, an adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's classic 'Master Builder'. The movie has turned to be a true masterpiece, clearly demonstrating the real craftsmanship of the director. While Aakashagopuram is getting good reports from all over, the director is set to venture into his next project which will feature Kavya Madhavan in a key role.
