Just when Priyadarshan's latest film Bhagam Baag was about to hit the theatres on the 22nd of December, it ran into big trouble. The producer of Mannar Mathai Speaking realized that the Hindi film is liberally borrowed from it.
The producer wasted no time in filing a suit in the court claiming that the film was the remake of his Malayalam hit film and that the Hindi version's producer didn't pay any royalty or fee for the remake rights.
Bollywood muscleman Suniel Shetty is the producer of the Hindi film. Before the court issued a stay against the film's release, he opted for an out-of-court settlement. The Malayalam film producer withdrew the suit from the court because Suniel Shetty had paid him Rs. 75 Lakhs as fee for remake.
