Mangalapuram is the dubbing version of Kannada movie Minchina Ota. The movie revolves around two guys Bhadra (Sri Murali) who belongs to a slum and Kishore (Vijaya Raghavendra) who belongs to a middle-class neighbourhood. The two of them are always at loggerheads, thereby creating issues. In the middle of their rivalry descends a beautiful girl Lakshmi (Lakshmi Rai) from Mangalore; predictably, both fall for her.
They try very hard to get her attention and dashing Vijay's hopes, she falls in love with Bhadra, the slum boy which fires up their rivalry still more. They are blissfully unaware that Lakshmi is the sister of Rai, a Mumbai underworld don who lives in Mangalore. Now Kishore, determined to separate the lovers, comes to know that the don is Lakshmi's brother and informs him of the budding Bhadra-Lakshmi romance.
The don beats up Bhadra and left on the streets, bleeding heavily. Kishore, regretful of what he has done, takes Bhadra to hospital and saves his life. Meanwhile, the don arranges for Lakshmi's wedding with a software engineer. Both Bhadra and Kishore ruxh to Bangalore.
