Kannada's early superhit movies Huccha and Hudugaru were two remake movies of Tamil films, Huchudugaru can be proudly called as original Kannada movie from our young and promising talents. As the title says, the movie is the story of youth, who will be called as Huchuduagaru (mischievous/naughty/stubborn/attitude boys) in their town in Nanjangood near Mysore city. The four youths Shiva (Chetan Chandra), Madesha (Amith), Shankara (Prathap) and Nanjunda (Dev) will lack in their decision making capacity for which they will face many problems in their life. The movie is all about these boys.
What are the incidences, which will make them lock horns with antagonist Maari Gowda aka Maari (Ravishankar)? Will Huchudugaru be successful in their mission? Answers to all these forms the crux of the story, which one needs to watch and enjoy it on the silver screen. New and young talents, who are seen in the key roles of Huchuduagru, have done an excellent job in the film.
Chetan Chandra, who has given average hits in Sandalwood for all these days, is likely to get a huge break from Huchudugaru.
Adithi Rao, who plays love interest to Chetan Chandra in the movie, is impressive in her role. The duo have also shared the best on screen chemistry in Huchuduagru.
New talents Dev, Prathap and Amith, who are seen in the key roles, have showed the real guts of village youths in Huchudugaru along with Chetan Chandra. They have got equal importance in the script with lead actors.
As an antagonist, Ravishankar's role as Maari aka Maari Gowda is at its best. Beside lead actors, Ravishankar is the show stealer. His role is the biggest boost for the movie.
Beside new faces, Huchudugaru is also filled with ace and versatile actors in its supporting roles. Actors like Avinash, Shankar Ashwath, Dattatreya aka Dattanna, Gururaj Hoskote and others are commendable in their roles.
Cinematographer Shaman Mithru's work should be appreciated. The exotic locations of Nanjangood, Mysore and Bangalore can be seen. The rural backdrop of Nanjangood is the feast for your eyes.
Music-composer Joshua Sridhar's music is appealing for all class of society. Huchudugaru's music is the mixture of all mass, class and other commercial elements.
As a debutant director RJ Pradeepa has done an excellent job. He has also turned to be a promising director in Sandalwood. We can expect some good movies in Kannada from Pradeepa in upcoming days.
Negative Aspects Of Movie
Huchudugaru has been too much lagged in the second half, one should have patience to wait till the climax as the movie conveys the strong message for youth.
Huchudugaru is a decent movie that suits all set of audience. A movie to be watched to encourage the young blood in Sandalwood. With minute drawback, the movie will never disappoint you. It is one time watchable.
