[an error occurred while processing this directive]Two decades ago, Amrutha Dhaare and America America fame director Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar had created a controversy after he wrote a short story 'Bhoomi Gundagide'. Now, he has tried to bring the same controversial story on the screen through the movie Olave Jeevana Lekkachara.
Movie Olave Jeevana Lekkachara is a sentimental family entertainer. The first half of the movie is little dragging and it bores the audience with its illogical linkup between the sequences. But the second half is thought provoking and it makes the audience tighten their seat belts.
Olave Jeevana Lekkachara deals with the concept of revolution. It calculates the relevancy of pseudo theories in real life and their adverse effect on the society. It is also a criticism on the dual nature of the revolutionaries. It gives a message to youths, who are carried away by these pseudo intellectuals.
Balachandra (Srinagar Kitty) is a college student. He is misguided by a pseudo revolutionary lecturer"s (Rangayana Raghu) ideas about life and marriage. He cheats his lady love Rukmini (Radhika Pandit). How a lady lecturer (Daisy Bopanna) reforms and makes him feel repentance will form the climax.
Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar has got an excellent control over the script and narration. But he seems to have failed in selecting the hero. His idea of blending commercial elements in the movie might have forced him to select Srinagar Kitty, who looks too old to play the role. He could have selected a new and young actor for the role. As a dialogue writer, he has proved his mettle.
Srinagar Kitty has given brilliant performance, but he needs to think before choosing a role, that suits his age and appearance. Radhika Pandit has performed well. Rangayana Raghu, Daisy Bopanna, Ashwath Neenasam and Asif Faroqi also excel in their respective roles.
Mano Murthy's music rocks the audience. Ajay Vincent's camera work is also wonderful.
