Mussanje Maathu - Review

Mussanje Maatu
Sudeep, Ramya and Anu Prabhakar outshine each other with strong performances in the Mussanje Maathu directed by Mahesh. Mahesh wins in his first battle as a film director by crafting an emotional film which is bound to touch the chords of the people. And the film is bound to appeal a large segment of family audience. The second half of the film is gripping enough to erase the memories of weak comedy sequences in the first half and the lengthy dialogues. Finally the film ends as a good and clean family oriented film with excellent performance and classic music by debutant music director Sridhar.

The songs of the film rocks as much as . Sudeep's outstanding performance in the role of Radio Jockey Pradeep. His body language, looks and new hair do fits into the role he plays in the film. Veteran cameraman Sundaranath Suvarna also compliments his work effectively to give a film a better look. The songs of the film are also well picturised.

Mussanje Maathu is a highly emotional film which makes audience to break into tears in many sequences. It looks like a collage of many emotional sequences, some related and some unrelated to the main story of the film. The fact is that the story of the film is wafer thin, but the narrative part is very good in the film.

Sudeep proves his mettle with an extra ordinary performance. Ramya and Anu Prabhkar are highly charged up in their respective roles. Ramesh Bhat is equally good in his complex role.

Sridhar's music compositions really rock in the film. 'Ninna Nodalendhu Maathanaadalendhu', 'Enaagalee' and 'Kaddalu Manasanna' are the top songs of the album which are well picturised too. The film stands out for its art work and camera work.

Mussanje Maathu is worth watching many a times. Sudeep shines like never before with his new looks and hair do. Director Mahesh shows lot of promise.

Gubbachichigalu comes to Goa

Director Abhaya Simha is a proud man today. His film Gubbachichigalu, first screened at the New York film and video festival, won the $2000 award for the best family feature film. Then the film went on to feature in the Los Angelos, Toronto and Kolkota international film festivals. Now, the latest stop for Gubbachichigalu is the ongoing IFFI in Goa. Anu Prabhakar portrays the lead role in the film. Anu was apprehensive about the film but the director's enthusiasm.....

Anu makes it big on small screen

Charming Anu Prabhakar, who began appearing on TV with the ongoing serial '100 Dinagalu' is attaining popularity through her strong portrayal of the central character. Interestingly, the serial is an action-packed melodrama and Anu plays a sort of a lady Bond, complete with guns and fights. '100 Dinagalu' (100 Days) has completed 40 episodes and will end after the100th episode. Veteran actor-producer-director Dwarakish will also make his first appearance in a TV serial through '100 Dinagalu'.Anu"s first movie in a.....

Mussanjemaathu - the title itself sounds to be romantic. To be frank, the movie can be ranked as below average. Not worth to be watched in multiplexes. i would like give justification of my views on this movie. Basically, the movie lacks the storyline. Director has lost his focus in creating real emotion and some of the scenes connectivity is lost. Music is bearable, but one song has been repeated 3 times repeatedly which is annoying. Sudeep looks different and is average. Sudeep has to improve his acting skills. He fails to portray the character as a lover boy. In few scenes he has overacted which is very visible. Ramya was good at her expressions. Comedy was very poor. Director has completely failed in his direction of the flow of script and the audience felt it as stretched. I closely observed the audience reaction on the sentiment scenes which was not touching them and most of the time the audience were having a laugh at some of those scenes. The climax was not made proper and the audience were feeling uneasy. In few scenes, the director has made some mistakes, Sudeep and Ramya having conversion on a rock near the beach....but both of them are residing in Bangalore as per the script. One song is good. Anu prabhakar was at her best.Movie has a good moral. Overall, Mussanjemattu could have been made much better. I made a mistake by taking the opinion of TOI review and watching at PVR. Friends, Musanjemaathu is not worth for Rs.150/- in PVR..pls give a second thought before u decide to go..
