Kannada Actress Shweta Pandit Says, 'Go Green'

Model turned actress Shweta Pandit gives equal importance in growing plants and says 'go green' beside maintaining her food diet. On the occasion of International Earth Day, we bring you the special tips from actress Shweta Pandit which has made her to create magic in the garden.

"I always wanted to grow organic stuff. It gives me a tremendous sense of satisfaction to grow my own veggies," says Shweta, who grows 15 varieties of vegetables like tomatoes, cilantro, chillies, beetroot, radish, bitter gourd, spinach, ladies finger, ginger and other leafy vegetables.

Shweta, who says that one does not need a typical farm land to do this, will use the same vegetables to cook dal and salads on a daily basis. The actress, who is born and brought up in Sirsi, is missing the forest greenery anywhere in the Urban Culture.

She said, "I learn't the art of growing my food by experimenting. My friends will visit my place to try the food cooked by the veggies grown in my garden as it is away from the chemicals and other pesticides." It Is Manageable For Shweta

Shweta Pandit said, "I wash the leaves infected with pests once in few weeks. It's tough but manageable as the quantity is small."

"These plants have taught me that life is full of surprises," says Shweta, who badly misses these plants, when she will be away from her home.

Shweta said that she often feels like vegetables to stay on the plant as the beauty mesmerises her.

She said, "Growing my own vegetables has also taught me that farmers are not given their due."

How Much Time Does Shweta Spends To Maintain The Garden

"Maintaining a garden requires an hour a day. Only planting seeds is time consuming as I have to clean the soil, mix in fertilisers and get the pots ready," says Shweta.
