However, the reason behind the murder is still unclear. Upparpete police, who have lodged the complaint, are investigating the case. It is reported that Hanumantha Kattimani was found murdered in a room at AR Extension, which has been first found by his neighbour Chandru. The murderers have hanged Kattimani with a wire. The incident came to limelight on Saturday (April 5).

In December 2013, Hanumantha Kattimani had owned the distribution rights of Sandalwood's recent release Chatrapathi, which is the remake of Telugu hit Chatrapathi. The Kannada movie had debutants Siddharth and Priyadarshini in the lead roles. The remake film, which was made with the budget of Rs 9 crore was directed and produced Dinesh Gandhi. Apparently, the movie failed to do a good business at the Box Office.
