Shivaraj Kumar's much-delayed Lakshmi is finally ready for the release. The film, which also features Priyamani, is hitting screens in entire Karnataka tomorrow (January 18) in 150 screens.
The advance booking started today and there is a good response for the film from audience. Billed as one of the biggest budget Kannada films, it is releasing in limited number of screens in Bangalore (22 screens as of now), but it is a wide release, as the film being released in 150 screens in Karnataka.
A source close to the development said, "The advance booking in multiplex and the main theatre will be started from today morning itself, as there is a huge response from the Shivanna fans for Lakshmi. Thanks to the trailer and posters that have attracted the audience."
Raghava Loki, who had earlier directed Shivaraj Kumar in Satya in Love, is wielding megaphone for Lakshmi and the film is produced by Bharani Minerals. Shivanna will be seen in the role of a CBI officer in Lakshmi and the concept of the film is given by none other than the actor himself. The director confirmed it to the Bangalore Mirror.
The main theme of Lakshmi is corruption and terrorism and is an action-thriller film.
Lakshmi is said to be technically well-made movie and modern technology has been used to the CGI. The makers of the film have spent huge amount on the graphics part.
While in the first half audience will get to see the standard Indian action sequences, the second half comprises of Western model. As a result, the budget of the film has crossed Rs 8 crores.
According to the director, the action sequence shot inside casinos in Macau would be one of the attractions of Lakshmi, as no Indian film has shot such a lengthy scene inside a casino.
