Veteran actor and politician Jaggesh has boycotted the 100 years of Indian Cinema Celebration, which is held in Chennai. The event was inaugurated by Tamil Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, on Saturday (Sep 21).

According to sources, the actor was upset with Kannada famous director S Narayan, who is also the head of Sandalwood cultural committee. Speaking to a leading daily, the actor said, "I'm a senior artiste and have been in the industry for over three decades. I deserve some respect for my accomplishments. People like Narayan - who weren't even in the industry when I came here, are acting smart and sidelining me with an intention of doing so. I'm insulted."

According to sources, Jaggesh was supposed to perform for a song that praises Kannada film industry in the valedictory function of 100 years of Indian Cinema, in the presence of senior actors and Chief Ministers of four states.

It is said that the song was recorded in Rajesh Ramnath's studio and also the actor had rehearsed with Malur Srinivas. But, the actor was asked to perform on the inaugural day, September 22, where he thinks it is not important at all.

There Is No Unity In This Industry
