Darshan, the Sultan of Box Office, seems to be unstoppable with a series of his movie doing wonders at Box Office. His last three movies - Saarathi, Chingari and Kranthiveera Sangolli Rayanna - have taken him to new heights. After doing three original (Swamake) movies, the Challenging star is back with Bulbul, a remake of Telugu hit film Darling.

Bulbul is directed by MD Shridhar, who had worked with Darshan in Porki. After approaching a few big names to play female lead role, the makers of the film choose to rope in newcomer Rachita Ram, a Kathak dancer. It has to be noted that Thoogudeepa Productions had earlier introduced Pranitha and Deepa Sannidhi, who are presently doing good in Sandalwood.

Later, Ambareesh and Pradeep Rawat were roped in to play important roles, but the latter walked out of the film due to some differences with the team. Sharath Lohitashwa was replaced to play his role.

Bulbul Set For Massive Release

Bulbul is all set for a massive release. The film is releasing in 150 screens in Karnataka and expected to increase in coming weeks. However, it has to be noted that his last two films had more number of screens than the latest flick.

Bulbul

An industry insider explains, "Darshan's KVSR and Chingaari crossed 175 screens but his latest film Bulbul is approximately releasing in 150 screens. In Bangalore alone, it is hitting screens in more than 20 screens. It is because there are a few other Kannada movies doing well. For an example, Sudeep's Bachchan is still running in many theatres in Bangalore. So, replacing it is not possible."

Bulbul

He concludes, "So, the makers of the film have decided to release in less number of screens and to avoid eating others' business. It might increase if the film opens up to positive reviews." Meanwhile, a huge cutout of Darshan has been placed in Prasanna theatre in Bangalore by his fans.

Bulbul

Traders say that there is a huge demand for tickets in the main and single theatres. But the advance booking for multiplexes in Bangalore and Mysore is yet to start.
