Rajini's primary school ready for makeover
Tamil superstar Rajinikanth's childhood school in Gavipuram, Bangalore is finally ready for the makeover. A total of Rs 1.53 crore has been sanctioned and the government of Karnataka laid a foundation for the construction works on Sunday (September 2).

Deputy Chief Minister R Ashoka performed a bhoomi puja on Sunday. The complete work is expected to be finished in six months. Reports say that the education department has funded Rs 81.5 lakh, Rs 25 lakh and Rs 20 lakh from the funds of MP Ananth Kumar and MLA Ravi Subramanya, respectively, as the school comes under their constituency.

Rajinikanth studied in the school till class 5 from 1954 to 1959. The school provides education till class 7 and now, it will be extended till 10th. The propose for the renovation was made five years ago and the government recently gave green signal for the project. However, as per the earlier reports, Rajini has not donated money for the project but his fans association has assured to help if necessary.

On the occasion, Minister R Ashoka has said that the school will have world class facilities and infrastructure. He also clarified that the project was not undertaken just because Rajinikanth studied here, but the school was running in dilapidated conditions.
