The entire film industry gathered around 10.30 am on Saturday and marched to Raj Bhavan and handed over a memorandum to Governor HR Bhardwaj. Rebel Star Ambareesh lead the film industry in the protest, which was held against the centre's directive to the state to release 9,000 cusecs of Cauvery water daily for Tamil Nadu, he was backed by actors Dwarakish, Shivaraj Kumar and Upendra.
Ambareesh Speaking At The Protest
Ambareesh said, "If we had 100 rupees, we would have not hesitated to pay Rs 50 to Tamil Nadu but how could we give 50 to our neighbours when we have a single pie? Our farmers here don't have enough water and it is impossible for us to give water to Tamil Nadu at this stage. Let us fight peacefully against the centre's decision."
