Singham team tenders apology to Kannadigas

The Singham team has tendered an apology to all Kannadigas and ended the controversy surrounding its screening in Karnataka. The team has removed the offensive scene from all prints of the film in Karnataka. It has also assured to remove it from the remaining prints with in 48 hours.

Actors Ajay Devgn has issued signed apology to Kannadigas for the offensive dialogue in the film. The offensive dialogue has been removed from all prints of the film in Karnataka. Reliance Big Entertainment CFO Shibasish Sarkar has assured that the scene would be removed from 1,800 screens showing the film across India and abroad within 48 hours.

Karnataka Rakshana Vedike had protested against the screening of the movie Singham on Friday. KaRaVe had criticised Rohit Shetty and Prakash Raj, who are Kannadigas, insulting people of their own community. Talking to TOI, Prakash Raj said, “I am a Kannadiga. I"m very proud of my community and would never deliberately do anything to hurt my people." Rohit Shetty has also stated the same sentence.

Meanwhile, KFCC president Basanth Kumar Patil warned Reliance Big Entertainment not to repeat the mistake in future. “This is not the first time.. Every time they (Reliance) make a mistake and tender an apology. We won"t accept any apology from them in future," the TOI quotes Patil as saying.
