Shivaraj, Raghavendra, Puneet and Parvathamma Rajkumar visited the Samadhi (tomb) of late Kannada actor Dr. Rajkumar on the eve of his 5th death anniversary today. After the offering the prayers, Dr. Raj family served food to thousands of fans, who had gathered at the Kanteerava Studios in Bangalore.
Dr. Rajkumar did many charity works when he was alive. Bur he never boasted about it because he had thought it was his responsibility. Following his footsteps, several of Raj fan clubs across the state have organised charity programmes like eye donation and blood donation camps to mark his death anniversary. A few groups even served food to poor people in many place in Karnataka.
However, it is very sad to remember about the installation process of Dr. Rajkumar's statue. After the death of Dr. Raj, the Karnataka government had promised to establish his memorial at Kanteerava Studios. Meanwhile, BBMP had also promised to erect a bronze statue of Rajanna in front of Town hall. But both these works are still pending even after five years after his death. Will these two promises be fulfilled in near future?
