It is reported that theatre owner Arun Kumar had decided to stop the screening of Gun, which was released a week's ago, in order to exhibit Sudeep directed movie Kempe Gowda. So along with Gun producer Murali, Harish Raj had met the theatre proprietor and tried to convince him as not take out his movie. But Arun had sticked to his plan claiming that the screening of Gun, which was not doing well at the Box Office, was against the rules of the KFCC.
So Harish Raj decided to protest against the theatre owner's decision in a very cinematic way. He informed all the TV channels on Saturday morning and went up the Santosh theatre with a knife in his hand. As hundreds of people, who had gathered in front of the theatre, urged him not to commit suicide, the frustrated director insisted on jumping if his movie is not continued to be screened in the theatre.
Meanwhile, the Uppapeth Police rushed to the place along with the fire force. A Police constable named Satish was stabbed by Harish Raj when he tried to stop him killing himself. But his fellow police men were successful in overpowering actor Harish Raj and arrest him. However, injured police Satish was immediately taken to the Victoria Hospital, where he was admitted to the emergency ward.
However, Harish Raj claimed that the decision of the theatre management was unethical. "I was so happy when I got an opportunity to screen my film in Santosh theatre, but they want to remove it within two weeks. The management is interested in taking advance amount towards theatre rental. The proprietor of the theatre certified my film Gun is not good without watching it," the Express Buzz quotes him as saying.
