A year has passed after the death of veteran Kannada actor Dr. Vishnuvardhan, but the Karnataka Government's promise to build his memorial at Abhiman Studios has remained a dream so far. However, the Govt has now come forward to lay foundation stone after Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhan urged the officials to get the work done.
The death anniversary of Dr. Vishnuvardhan falls on 30th of this month. So Dr Bharathi Vishnu recently visited Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa's office to invite him for the foundation ceremony at the Vishnu memorial. The CM has agreed to attend the event to be held at 12 pm on December 30.
Dr Vishnuvardhan's memorial is coming up at the two acres of land near Abhiman Studios in Bangalore. The Govt has granted 50 percent rebate on the registration of the land. Senior Kannada actress Bharathi has thanked the Govt for its exemplary nature.
Dr Bharathi, Anirudh and family members will take part in the procession starting from National College grounds on December 30. Bharathi will start the procession by releasing 10,000 balloons in the air. The rally will move via Sajjan Rao circle, Thyagarajananagar college, Deve Gowda Petrol bunk, Uttarahalli circle and reach Abhiman studio.
However, Red Cross society and The Halappa Foundation have planned to organise blood donation, eye camp and free health camp for general public. Meanwhile, social service organisation Milana, which has accommodated 300 HIV AIDS victims, will be provided with the necessary grains at this place.
