Agni Shridhar"s directorial debut venture Thamassu, which features Shivaraj Kumar and actress Padmapriya in the lead roles, has landed in another new trouble after the theatre owners in Mysore and Hubli refused to screen the movie in their theatres. Now, they have decided to screen Thamassu only two weeks after its release and decision has created lot of curiosity and doubt among the film-goers.

According to the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC), there is a rule that a non-Kannada movie should be released in Karnataka only after two weeks after its release in its respective state. But now, the theatre owners in Mysore and Hubli have insisted on following the same rule for both Kannada and non-Kannada movies and urged the Thamassu film bosses to release it in Mysore and Hubli centres after two weeks after its release.

With this decision, Thamassu, which deals with the communal clash between Hindu and Muslims, is facing a new problem. This unexpected incident has disappointed director Agni Shridhar, who is already upset with the Censor Board"s decision. Talking about issue, the director has condemned their decision. “Kannada films are facing trouble from Kannadigas only. The enemies are not outsiders, but they are insiders," Shridhar expressed his anger to a private TV Channel.

It is not surprising that the distributor in Mysore and Hubli those who are responsible for this problem are not Kannadigas. Now, this issue has come before KFCC and it should be watched how Basanth Kumar Patil, the newly elected president of KFCC, would resolve the problem of Thamassu, which is set to release on this Friday (June 11).

However, Agni Shridhar has earlier penned story, screenplay and dialogues for a few successful films like Aa Dinagalu, Slum Bala and Kallara Santhe. Now the whole film industry is eagerly waiting to see his directorial debut venture Thamassu. The film has Sundaranath Suvarna"s camera work, Sandeep Chowta"s music, Shashidhar Adapa"s art direction, Different Danny"s stunts and Nagendra Urs" editing.
