Infosys Chief Mentor NR Narayana Murthy's wife Sudha Murthy, who has earlier acted in a television serial, is now making her debut in Kannada films. She has already given her consent to act in director Sadashiva Shenoy's debut venture Prarthane, which features Ananth Nag, Sudharani, Pavithra Lokesh and Prakash Raj in leads.
Sudha is all excited about her role in the movie Prarthane. "I enjoy music and watching films very much. At this age, I did not have the ambition to act in films. I told him (Shenoy) to give a role where I don't have do make-up," the PTI quotes Sudha Murthy as saying.
Sudha has written many stories, which deal with common lives and her views on donations, hospitality and realisation. Her collections of stories are 'Mahashweta' (Kannada and English), 'Wise and Otherwise', 'Dollar Bahu' (English) and 'Paridhi' (Kannada). Her Kannada book 'Dollar Sose', which was later translated to English as 'Dollar Bahu', was adopted as a television serial in 2001.

The film Prarthane, which is produced by Harish, revolves around the need to preserve Kannada culture and language. Ramachandra Ithal is behind camera and Veer Samarath has composed music for the film.
