Actor Sudeep is now planning to recreate the 1981 blockbuster movie Antha, which featured Rebel star Ambareesh in lead. The movie is titled Kanwarlal. According to Kicha, the movie will be based on Antha, but it will not be a remake. He wants to give a new twist to it.
The actor-turned-director says that recreating a film has not been done before and it is something new in Kannada. He has already discussed the film with Ambarish, Rajendra Singh Babu and Jayamala and they given their consent. "It"ll be a tribute to Ambi mama," says Sudeep.
He says that the film Kanwarlal will be based on Antha, but won"t be a remake. He is just taking the soul of the film and everything will be stylised. He will try to better various aspects besides maintaining the standard of the original. So he is roping in the experts for the same. “A lot of people who are fans of Antha are working on the script with me," says Sudeep
However, he confirms that Ambi is not playing any role the Antha. He says that Antha was not an impulsive decision. It was on there in his mind before Just Maath Maathalli. Dandam Dashagunam will also start immediately.
