Besides Kannada, he had also starred in Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi movies. He deserved the National honours like Padmabhushan award. Why did Central Govt not consider his name for the title? Was it the State Government's responsibility to force Central Govt? Of course, It's a great shame to Kannada peoples!
Vishnuvardhan, who was staying at Hotel Metropole in Mysore, complained of chest pain at 2.30 PM on 30th December. His wife Bharati immediately called the family physician Dr Bharath and he was immediately rushed to a private hospital. However, he died on the way at about 2.45 PM. The news of Kannada matinee idol Vishnuvardhan demise had sent shock and grief across the state.
Vishnuvardhan has passed away at just 59, which is so sad for Kannada Film industry and his fans. Vishnu was not only a great actor, but also a great human being. His fans are shocked by his sudden demise, which has created a vied in the Kannada film industry. His loss is irreplaceable.
Vishnuvardhan proved his acting skills in his first debut Vamsha Vruksha directed by noted director Girish Kasaravalli in 1972. The movie was a adaptation of the novel written by SL Byarappa. Though he performed a very small role in the film, it was enough to create a resounding impact on Sandalwood.
The Sahasa Simha star was born and brought up in a theatre loving family. His father was a journalist as well as theatre artiste. At the tender age of five in 1956, he appeared as a child artiste in D Shankar Singh's Shivasharane Namakka and Kokilavani. After completing his degree atNational College Basavanagudi, he chose acting as his profession.

Earlier, Dr. Vishnu was recommended for Padmabhushan award by former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy. But the Central Government had not taken it seriously and ignored his name from consideration list of the candidates.
